Well August is gone and here we come September!!!

Greetings!!!

I have to apologize for totally missing the month of August!  Where the heck did it go?  It is becoming way too true when they say "time flies when you are having fun!"  Got a visit in with the Grandbabes and witnessed the 60% eclipse out in our local desert Borrego Springs.  Yes, it was hot out there, but we watched as we drank Bloody Mary's and sat in the pool.  Great time!

Let's get business out of the way.  What is tomorrow????  SEPTEMBER 1st!  What happens tomorrow????  The Holiday Catalog goes LIVE!  Yippee!!  Now all of you can order whatever you want until January 1st.  If you didn't get one from me, let me know and I will gladly send one out to you!  You can still see it online, but it is much nicer to touch and feel and mark up with post-its, stars, etc.  Mine is almost destroyed already!!!  Let me know if you have any questions and I will be happy to answer them.

Wanted to just post a few things I have been working on and I am going to post a few of the cards that my partner in this paper crafting obsession, Cathy Gillick, has done.  Cathy has been an inspiration to me since 2013, and continues to amaze me daily with her creativity.  It is absolutely non-stop!!!

First, my favorite Crafty Ladies!  I have to say that my Holiday Card Buffet was a success and thank goodness as it was my first one!  I received many, many compliments and they loved that they could get down to it and finish the cards. I am the one that isn't holding any of them in the gray, but Linda in the dark blue forgot to hold hers up!  She made an Autumn and two Christmas cards.

I love the new Cat Punch!  Can you tell???

As I said before, I wanted to share the cards that my downline Cathy made.  She used some non-stamping up items (but I did too on the step card), but only has been with me for a little over a year.  I have taken the liberty of putting my watermark on them as she does not have one made up yet.  I want to work with her on getting one.  Want to give her credit where credit is due!

Don't you just love the beachy Christmas?  That is the cutest set!  Thanks Cathy for all of your hard work helping all of us out using your amazing creativity!

Well, that is all for me today, so I can get this published and out to you all.  Have a safe and fun Labor Day Weekend.  Prayers are sent to any of our fellow demonstrators and all involved in the horrendous storms in Texas and Louisiana.  Please know you are in our hearts and we care.

Be kind to one another and always try to find time to Create With Paper!

Everything is coming up? Roses, Gardenia?

As promised, Summer Blooms continues...today, I had fun with some watercoloring - I just need to remember to use water color paper next time, although it worked out fine on just cardstock.  I did a Catalog Case.  I was looking up this particular stamp set to see if there were framelits to go with it and saw a cute idea in the Catalog for using the stamp.  Unfortunately I was doomed to fussy cutting the image out...I think for all (or most) of the stamps, there should be framelits to coordinate.  Well, I will dream...

Here is my "CASE"
Rose 2
Supplies I used:

Big Shot
$110.00
Heat Tool
$30.00

In the marker packs, I used Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz and Daffodil Delight to color in the rose.  Now that I look at the flower more, it may not be a rose, maybe a gardenia?  If you know the correct name for the flower, please let me know so I can learn my flowers :)

On the inside, I used the single "rose" flower and embossed and water colored it too to match the front of the card.  My sentiment is the "Make A Wish" from Happy Birthday Gorgeous.

All in all, it was a fun card to make - thanks Stampin' Up! for the inspiration.  I have read many a post that do "Case the Catalog" days, and I finally did it.  Yay!

So, we are getting closer to the end of July - AARRGGHH!  Just wanted to remind everyone of the Christmas in July promotion!  If you become a demonstator by July 31st, you will receive a FREE Essentials Gift Pack including Paper Snips, SNAIL Adhesive, Grid Paper, two D Blocks (one for them and one for a stamping friend!), and a Bone Folder. More "bloomin'" flowers!

Greetings from hot and steamy (yes, I said steamy - for us at least) San Diego!

The weather is more like the South or East this week...hot and sticky!  Even the kitties are going in slo mo!  Flowers are still my favorite at least for this month!  So, I did another Orchid card AND a card that I CASE'd from Laura Kant at laurascreativemoments.blogspot.nl.  I made this one for a birthday of a dear friend...(hope she doesn't read this issue of the blog (yikes)..

Here is the 2nd Orchid card ~ I am in love with Melon Mambo and the new Lemon Lime Twist.  At first I wasn't sure if it would be too neon, but it isn't - it is gorgeous!

"Blooms for the Summer" and Orchids

Well, I made my first card with the Climbing Orchid Bundle!  Woo Hoo!  I am such an Orchid fan, that I had to have this set, but have just now been experimenting with it.

I started out with a very simple card that was inspired by so many Pinterest pages.  Thanks to all who post, and I want to apologize for not writing down the name of the person whose card I took my idea from.  Also, wanted to let you all know that Bronwyn Eastley of Addinktive Designs has done some fabulous research and gives wonderful suggestions as to color combos of Orchids.  I was absolutely in awe of how many color combos using Stampin' Up! inks to make gorgeous Orchids.  That is my next goal.  I have really enjoyed watercoloring and blending inks lately so I am truly looking forward to making more beautiful flowers.

Here is my simple but pretty Orchid card...

Summer is here!

Summer Greetings Everyone!

I know, I know, summer officially starts on June 21st.  But here in San Diego, our June is usually what we call "June Gloom".  Very often, the sun never actually comes out due to things such as "Coastal Eddies" "Fog Banks" and "Offshore Clouds".  It makes the start of summer kind of yukky!

So, I tend to think of 4th of July as the start of summer!  Amazingly, the sun is out early in the morning, temperatures are a comfortable mid 70's, we get nice breezes and flowers are popping out everywhere!

Today, I got up, did my normal morning routine (no, not exercising!) of taking Musette down to the lookout in her harness, taking my coffee with me and of course peanuts for the squirrels.  It was like a renewed day!  Fresh, bright and oh boy was that coffee deeelicious!!!  When I came in for breakfast, I was determined to make a card with the Daisy Delight Bundle.  I had received the stamp a month or so ago, but the punch was on backorder.  Finally, I received it so had to use it immediately!  I was inspired by Petra Tailor of Tailored Craftiness in Australia.  Here is my creation!
Daisy front
I love the soft colors of peach (which is actually Coral) and the contrast of the pear pizzazz used.  For the inside, I lined it with the Calypso Coral and did another stitched oval and used the sentiment "your kindness makes a difference" from the Thoughtful Branches stamp set.  If you would like to make this card or one similar, click on any of the items and it will take you to my shopping site.  It was pretty simple and I am super happy with my first Daisy card.  More to come!

TGIF! The final three today!

Happy Friday!

Even being retired, there is something magical about Fridays!  I suppose it will always be a day of excitement for the weekend, even though my husband and I say that sometimes it feels like every day is Friday.  Hey we certainly aren't knocking the retired life.  We love it!  He is semi-retired, but we consider it being retired.  Freedom is what we cherish the most.

So today, I am showing off the last three Display Board cards from my Catalog Launch Lunch that I held last Sunday.  It was truly a wonderful day, and I know I have said it before, these ladies are my life line!  Everyone of them is worth their weight in gold.  Love to you all!

My first card is another Catalog Case.  I really have taken advantage of the ideas in the catalog because for my Launch, the ladies were looking at the catalog.  This gave them an actual card to touch and feel.  I called it my Wedding Wishes card, and you will see why...I am not that original!  Ha!

It was an easy card, but I think it turned out lovely.  I hadn't used the Detailed Floral Thinlits in a while, so my cutting wasn't as precise as I would have liked.  But when you are under pressure, you stick with what you get!  (smiley face emoji!)  Here are the supplies:

Big Shot
$110.00

Next card I called my "Miss Piggy" card.  This stamp set caught my eye at On Stage in April.  Pigs are cute and this one just made my heart smile.  My inspiration was Rose Grunewald of Country Cards by Rose.  She displayed the card on pinterest, and I felt the sentiment is very appropriate for women today.

We women haven't hit the glass ceiling yet, but I see it in the near future!  This little Miss Piggy kept up her hope and she did it!  I got some Watercolor Paper and attempted my artistic ability with the inks.  I will get better with time.  Her supplies:

Big Shot
$110.00

The ribbon is Pool Party Woven Ribbon that has been retired.  I still love it, but other colors would go just as nice.

Next, I made a Birthday Shadow Box card.  I showed one in my blog dated 5/24/17.  They are so unique and easy once you get your measurements right.  This one I am showing all 3 layers..I have to say, the flower and stem and the Happy Birthday on the front are from the retired stamp set That's The Tag.

As I said before, I want to make more of these - there are so many possibilities.  Splitcoast Stampers has a great tutorial for making the box.  My original idea came from Melanie Joyner at Joy-Stampin in Denmark.  Here are the supplies for this sweet kitty happy birthday:

Well, that is all of the cards I made for my Display Board.  Whew!  I was a busy bee the week before my Launch.  Busy, yes, but it is exactly what I needed to get my mojo back.  Thank goodness.  If you wish to recreate any of these cards, click on the picture of the supply you need and it will take you directly to my store.  If you order less than $150.00 worth of product, be sure to use:

If you order more than $150.00 you will earn Stampin' Rewards and they start at $15.00 worth of product for your $150.00 purchase.

So, next week I will share more cards that I am going to work on over the weekend.  Until we meet again, be kind to one another and make time for Creating With Paper!

As promised ~ display board cards - here is #4 and #5!

Happy Throw Back Thursday!

I am not going to throw anything back, but had to greet you all in some sort of cute way. (hmmm, emoji!).  First today, I wanted to show you my Daisy Tri Shutter Card.  I saw all sorts of these on Pinterest and You Tube, and followed Niki Ridges site Stampin' With Glittermum.  She did a couple Daisy cards, so thought that would be a good way to show the Daisy bundle to my group.  My biggest disappointment though was that the Punch to the bundle is back ordered until the end of June!  Aarrggh!  Oh well, several people have wanted it and are willing to wait until we can order again.  Niki's directions were pretty clear, except she didn't give too many measurements.  But I managed to CASE her card pretty close.

Here are all the supplies used for this card:

Big Shot
$110.00

OOPS!  I forgot to include the Colorful Seasons Stamp for the sentiment!  So sorry - it is #143726 but it is part of a bundle (#145348) in the new Catalog.  Remember, bundles when available reduce the price 10%.

As complicated as this looks, it really wasn't.  Since I used my own measurements for the Designer Series Paper and Card Stock on the squares, I just measured each block and if there was a Card Stock background, I measured 1/4" less than the original square and if Designer Series Paper in addition, it was cut 1/4" less than the Card Stock background.  Likewise, if there was just Designer Series Paper on the square (okay, some are rectangles..geesh) that was measured 1/4" smaller than actual square measurement.

AND, for your enjoyment #5!  This had to be my absolute favorite sample card that I made.  For one thing, it matches our kitchen colors AND decor!  We have towels, canisters, pot holders and utensil jar with "happy chefs".  We also get a calendar every year and the pictures are just precious!  A huge shout out to Jackie Aitken of Jaxx Crafty Creations for the sample I got the inspiration from.  She did hers in all black and white, but as soon as I saw it I said "kitchen colors"...

I just love the way it looks like he is "squirting" out "Happy Birthday" in icing on the front.  Here are the supplies for this Happy Birthday card:

I also used red and white bakers twine that was left over from Christmas!

If you would like to make these cards and need any of the supplies, just click on the picture and it will take you to my ordering site.  Share your creations, please!  All of us work so hard on our cards that if we inspire you to make one exact or similar, we always like to see them.  Just remember to give credit for your inspiration.  That is important for all of us!  I love having my creations CASE'd, but I also like to know that it was me who inspired you.  Most of my cards are NOT original designs of mine.  I don't have that much creativity in me, but when someone else has designed a card that I love and make, I make sure I give them credit.

If you do place an order on my site, be sure to use:

If you order more than $150.00, don't use this code - you will earn Stampin' Rewards that start at $15.00!!!

Well that is all for today; tune in tomorrow for a Wedding Card CASE'd pretty closely from who?  The Stampin' Up! 2017-18 Catalog!  I know several groups that have Catalog Case get togethers.  I think that is a pretty darn good idea!  I did that for our make and take!  Shhhh, don't tell anyone!  He He!

Until tomorrow, be kind to one another and make time for Creating With Paper!

Hump Day and the next sample revealed!

Good Morning!

Today is going to be a busy day for us, so I wanted to get on early and post the next sample card from my Catalog Launch Lunch Display Board.  Hope I am not boring you all.

The card I am showing today is called "Just Breathe".  Lately, we all have experienced some trying times and it probably will do us all good to relax and "just breathe".  I fell in love with this Color Theory Suite (bundle) the moment I saw the beach chair, but what was even better, it comes with a cute, cute, cute Adirondack chair in the Thinlits pack.  I will show you a card with that later this week.

Sharing Display Board samples from Catalog Launch

Hi Hi!

Happy Tuesday!  Monday was a day of rest (most of it) for me...my Catalog Launch Lunch took it out of me.  I think the excitement, preparation and anticipation of the event just tuckered me out.

I wanted to share with you some of the sample cards I made and thought that just one a day would be a good thing.  The first one I am sharing I want to give a shout out to the incredible Billie Moan of Rambling Rose Studio.  Billie shared this card with everyone and I was just enamored with it.  It was a must do for my Launch Party.  So, Thank You big time Billie!

As you can see from the "front" photo, I posted a list of items used and the page number in the catalog.  My big disappointment was the daisy punch being unavailable until June 26th (hopefully), so I just fussy cut them out.  They turned out fine.  You can't really see the Wink of Stella Shine on the daisy and the little girls hair, but it is there and may I say an added bit of glam for her.

Here is an official list of Products used on this card so if you wish to duplicate it, just click on any of the items to order them
.

Blender Pens
$10.00
Big Shot
$110.00

If you wish to order these or any other items from the new Annual Catalog be sure to use:

June 2017 hostess code
If your order is over $150.00 don't use the code because you will earn Stampin' Rewards!

Well, tune in tomorrow for the next card sample displayed.  Until then, be kind to one another and make time for Creating With Paper!
