New things happening at Stampin' Up!

As of September 1st, there were several things introduced and available to our customers.  Here is the latest!

The new Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine (#149653) is now available to you all!  At $120.00, this machine has a wide 6" (15.2 cm) platform that works with all Stampin’ Up! dies and embossing folders. Includes 1 Base Plate (Plate 1), 1 Die Plate (Plate 2), 2 Cutting Plates (Plate 3), and 1 Specialty Plate (Plate 4).

Plus, the Magnetic Cutting Plate (# 149656) is available. It is $24.00 and is a thin, fully magnetic sheet with self-healing cutting surface. Magnetic Cutting Plate (Plate 5) holds dies securely in place, even nested dies. This slim, portable sheet replaces a Cutting Plate in your sandwich, making it even easier to take with you. Use with the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

Why the Stampin' Up! Cut and Emboss Machine?  Well, they are

  • Durable machines with high-quality results. The solid steel construction frame and rubber feet that securely grip the work surface produce crisp, clean, precise cutting and beautifully detailed embossing.
  • Easy to use. The machine and tools are designed for an intuitive die-cutting and embossing experience. For example, all plates are labeled with a number and are color coded for easy reference and use when building your sandwich. And just like the name suggests, our Magnetic Cutting Plates have fully-magnetic surfaces to make it easy to securely position your dies and keep them in place.
  • Simple to store. The platforms on the machine folds for space-saving storage and it looks pretty too–the sleek, clean design suits any crafting space.
  • Portable. You can use this machine at home or on the go with its folding platforms and ergonomic carrying handles. It’s also convenient for you attending crops or other crafting get togethers.

Michelle's Halloween and Christmas in August is the name of the game

Here is hoping that we can actually celebrate Christmas when the real time comes!  But until then, I will keep on celebrating.  I held my Sunday Craftin' Gals Gathering on August 30th with a small group, but boy did we have fun!  Here are some photos that my dear friend Nee took and put into PicCollage.  We are in-between decorating seasons, but she does such a great job on these I love to share them.  We were social distancing, wearing masks (until we ate) and were having social fun!

Here are the sample cards/treat box I provided the girls...

I have to Thank Akiko Sudano for the inspiration of the Dove of Hope card.  I used the white velvet paper Stampin' Up! had last year on the Dove which made her very soft looking.  The Owl card was made because I just love the plaid papers in the Plaid Tidings Suite.  Of course, the Little Treat Box used everything in that Die pack.  It comes with the box die, and all sorts of little embellishments - there is another picture below.  LOVE!

Did everyone on my mailing list get their Holiday Mini Catalog?  I sure hope so.  It has plenty of fun things in it to really get you in the mood for the holidays.

I started my Halloween by making a "shadowbox" and used old and new Stampin' Up! Halloween designer papers.  I have so much of the retired papers it isn't funny and so thought I would use some since I won't be giving this gem away.  Also in my stash of collections are stickers from many, many years of collecting.  This year is my use up or get rid of some of them.  So, many, many stickers were used.  Stamps used are from the current mini catalog - used the Flight of Fancy little witch!  She is just so cute!  I also used some of the bats from Hallows Night Magic, the cauldron and witch hat from last years DSP, and the house stamp from a couple years ago!  As you can see, I hold on to my Holiday paper, stamps and dies.  Here is my creation!
Also, experimented with the Little Treat Box Die...just made one little Halloween box to try it out!  It is so stinkin' cute I almost can't stand it.  I have Trick or Treaters that are allergic to candy (God forbid I should ever have that affliction :) ) so I want to make these for them and put in a little lip gloss or a few temporary tatoos, so they can enjoy the Holiday also.
This brings me to a HUGE question!  Will we get to have Halloween this year?  A question to ponder.  Let's hope the little ones get to have fun...Halloween is my Granddaughters birthday, so it is very special to us (and her).  I hope she gets to enjoy Trick or Treating this year!

I cased this cute Halloween Gnome card from Marcy Denning.  I love the gnomes this year and I love the Halloween paper.  She did hers in Purple, which I may do another one in.  Also, would love to do one in Granny Apple Green.  All very cool Halloween colors.
Here is a Christmas card using the Ornamental Envelope Bundle.  I saw Lynn Dunn's cards she made with the bundle and fell in love with the "natural" colors.  So I cased it.  Thanks Lynn!  I need to practice on putting the die for the envelope on envelopes...I don't think I did it right, so will continue to experiment.

I participated in a swap with 13 other girls.  I would love to show you the card, but will wait until I get all of them and give you a display.  We did this not too long ago, and it was such fun!  I received many darling cards.  Can't wait to show all of you those cards!

I will do another quick post with updates from Stampin' Up!  Until then, be kind to one another, stay safe and make the time to be Creating With Paper!  See you next time!

Michelle's still doing Christmas in July in August!

You are all probably saying,  what the heck does that mean?  Well, since our State (California) is rising in numbers of cases of COVID, I didn't get to hold my "Christmas In July" Sunday Gathering, so I am extending the project and adding some more to my August Gathering, naming it "Christmas In August!"  I would celebrate Christmas all year if I could get away with it! Unfortunately others in my family would not be too fond of that idea :).

Speaking of Christmas and Holidays, the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog (formerly known as the Holiday issue) is live and available to the public on August 4th!  Soon!  There are some carryovers from last years Holiday Catalog, so if you loved something last year, but weren't able to buy it then, check to see if perhaps it is in the new Catalog.  I like when they carryover some of the wonderful things - I get a second (or third or fourth - ha!) look and usually will purchase it!

I was able to Pre-order some things to get my Christmas, Fall and Halloween projects started.  That is an advantage of becoming a part of my team as a demonstrator!  Discounts, previews of upcoming catalogs, most of all though being part of a very fun group!  If you are interested just click on "Join Me" and we can get you started!

In June, I did host a small group of my Sunday Craftin' Gals Gathering, and we had a Mystery Stamp session.  I love how Sharon Armstrong holds these on Tuesdays.  It is so fun to see all of the different ideas people come up with.  I put together packets that contained all the papers needed - cut and scored.  I had selected several sentiment stamps and several other stamps they would need!  Water color pencils for coloring in stamps, and any embellishments they wanted.  I read the directions to them and helped when I saw confusion on some faces.  It is not easy if you have no idea how it is supposed to look, but that is the fun of it.  They took home the directions so they could make more of the design.

My dear friend Nee, put together some photos of our gathering.  She got some pictures of my home decorations and since we couldn't hold our regular potluck, I provided a variety of cheesecakes.  Third photo first row, are the "samples" from the new catalog that I displayed with the coordinating bundles or suites shown in the last photo.  My Mystery card was similar to Nee's Orange framed card.  I must have sent mine to someone, can't find it anywhere in my craft room...probably if I clean it again, I will come across it.  I just used a different colors on my flower.  Oh the second picture in the second row is a picture of some of the clothespin dolls I made.  I had the supplies probably for 5 years and decided to do them this year.  Do you all gather things up for years and finally say, enough!  I need to make these for more room!  That is my life in a nutshell.

As you can see, we were being safe - wore masks until we ate our dessert.  All of the others that came, Linnie, Ang, Irene, and Cathy (who stopped by) thought it was very fun... I am glad when they like the projects.

Well, that is all for now, as always, I hope to blog more, but man life just keeps getting busier and busier.  I didn't think this is how retirement was going to be.  Oh well, I hope you all are staying safe, and when you are home, be sure to make time for some Creating With Paper!

Catalog LIVE today!

Happy June Everyone!

Even though we are still on partial lock down, it looks like things are trying to get back to normal.  I don't know about you, but my June hair appointment is so needed, it isn't even funny!  Still, let's keep to our Social distancing and Wear Your Masks.

Well, today is a big day!  The Annual 2020-21 catalog is now Live for all of you to order!  I placed my order, and am excited about all of the new things I will be getting.  If any of you want to place an order from the new catalog this month, please use this Hostess Code.  If your order is over $150.00, don't use the code as you will earn Stampin' Rewards.  Just click on Let's Shop on the Side Bar or Shop Now at the top of the page.  Happy Shopping!  I promise you won't regret it! :)

If you need a new catalog, please email me and I will get you one.  Until then, click on the catalog front in the side bar to get a copy of it.  Many are on my mailing list so you may have already received one.  I hope you like the new products, but there were a lot of carry overs which was a good thing for me.  As the year went by, so many people had examples for many of the stamp sets and at times, I wished I had purchased a particular stamp.  Thank goodness most of those are in the new catalog, so I still can order them!  Yay!  PLUS, guess what is coming out soon?  The July-December Mini Catalog (formerly the Holiday Catalog) will be coming out early this year!  Preview of the catalog will be late June and Pre-Order will start July 1! It goes live in August!  In 2021, it will go live in July and be good through December.  They will have 3 main catalogs now every year.  The January-June Mini Catalog, The Annual Catalog, and the July-December Mini Catalog.  So, a good reason to join my team - you get the Aug-Dec Mini Holiday Catalog EARLY!  Woo Hoo!

We hopefully, keeping fingers crossed can hold my Monthly Sunday Craftin' Gals Gathering in June.  I am pushing it out to the very last Sunday (the 28th) so perhaps things will relax a little bit.  I have been toying with the idea of doing a video conference sort of thing, but I think we all are hungry for face to face (albeit masked faces) contact.

If you are interested in becoming a demonstrator, my team and I would love to have you join us.  Discount purchases, sneak peeks for catalogs and new products, conventions and trips (although this year they are virtual, but hey it still is fun!) and just all around fun with new friends!  NOTE: If you join in June, you get to choose a Free Bundle!  See the promo!  It is a bit hard to read, but here is the run down...Between June 3-June 30, you can choose any Stamp/Tool Bundle from the new catalog.  This bundle is FREE!  Wowza!  Click on "Join Me" on the sidebar or "Join the Fun" at the top, and start the rewards coming!

Well, I just wanted to check in and share the big News on the catalog, so now I will go back to my paper crafting studio and work on some new things!  So, be kind to one another, stay safe, and remember to wash your hands then make time for CREATING WITH PAPER!

Still staying at home and stamping!

Greetings from the Masked Stamper! (Pun intended)

A surreal time for sure.  I feel like the Masked Singer, except not quite as good of singer as most of them are.  We have been watching that show for the first time this season, and find it a nice break from our usual news junkie days.  Yes, we are news junkies unfortunately at times, but at least we are informed (or I hope we are).

This post is just a reminder that the new Annual Catalog from Stampin' Up! is going live in June!  It is filled with new things and old things - not old per say, but you know what I mean...carry overs.  I find that nice so I don't feel so bad if I haven't used a stamp set from last years catalog.  I still have a chance to consider it "new" and not "retired".  Here is a picture of the cover...
2020-21 cover
New In Colors are coming too!  Yippee!  The inks will be available some time in late June I believe.  I will keep you all updated when they are available.  The In-Color paper is available and so are the ribbons.  Many of us demonstrators took advantage of a pre-order this month, and hopefully we didn't buy out everything in stock.  You know us, we get anxious and want to plan for events and give aways, so possibly buy out something very quickly.  Our bad...

I am featuring a couple cards that I CASE'd using the Ornate Garden Suite.  At first, it was a tad lacy and frilly for me, but I found that some have found the right combination to make them classy.  I love vintage, flowery looks, but too much pattern and lacy elements not so much.  So, I have to be picky about my cards and not get them too jumbly (is that a word? Ha).

The first card is CASE'd from Akiko Sudano.
The next is CASE'd from Julie Gilson...
Both have inspired me to do more with this Suite so Thank You Akiko and Julie.  It really is a gorgeous array of stamps, dies, ribbon, embossing folders, and embellishments.  If you would like to know what I used, let me know and I will send you a list of Stampin' Up! items used on both cards.

One other feature...Every Tuesday (except for the next two), Sharon Armstrong does a "Mystery Stamping" live.  It is a whole lot of fun because you just never know what the finished card will look like.  Everyone that participates picks out a different paper and card stock, and they all come out so fun!  Here is the last one I did...I was quite happy with the results!  It is a Z fold card.  Sharon's opened from the left, but I went rogue and made it open on the right.  I love going rogue!  Ha!

If you would like to get pre-orders, a discount on all items in the catalog, a chance to participate in the On Stage Virtuals (for awhile) please consider joining my team! The more the merrier.   I hold my Sunday Craftin' Gals Gatherings once a month (hopefully we will start up again in June or July) and we have a blast making cards, 3d items and I like to hold a Card Camp once in awhile.  If we are able to get together in June, I will be introducing the new catalog and showing off a few things.  Door prizes and other fun prizes are coming too!  Just click on Join the Fun at the top or the Join Me box on the side bar.

Well, that is all for today!  Please be kind to one another and stay safe, stay home!  At least those of you in California!  So, if you have time on your hands, wash them (:)), and make time for CREATING WITH PAPER!  See you next time!
