"Blooms for the Summer" and Orchids Well, I made my first card with the Climbing Orchid Bundle! Woo Hoo! I am such an Orchid fan, that I had to have this set, but have just now been experimenting with it. I started out with a very simple card that was inspired by so many Pinterest pages. Thanks to all who post, and I want to apologize for not writing down the name of the person whose card I took my idea from. Also, wanted to let you all know that Bronwyn Eastley of Addinktive Designs has done some fabulous research and gives wonderful suggestions as to color combos of Orchids. I was absolutely in awe of how many color combos using Stampin' Up! inks to make gorgeous Orchids. That is my next goal. I have really enjoyed watercoloring and blending inks lately so I am truly looking forward to making more beautiful flowers. Here is my simple but pretty Orchid card... Here is the list of supplies I used...note, I used Yellow Stickles for the center of the flowers. Everything is coming up? Roses, Gardenia? As promised, Summer Blooms continues...today, I had fun with some watercoloring - I just need to remember to use water color paper next time, although it worked out fine on just cardstock. I did a Catalog Case. I was looking up this particular stamp set to see if there were framelits to go with it and saw a cute idea in the Catalog for using the stamp. Unfortunately I was doomed to fussy cutting the image out...I think for all (or most) of the stamps, there should be framelits to coordinate. Well, I will dream... Here is my "CASE" Supplies I used: Birthday Blooms Clear-Mount Stamp Set [140658] $19.00 Happy Birthday Gorgeous Photopolymer Stamp Set [143662] $21.00 Crumb Cake 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock [120953] $8.00 Very Vanilla 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock [101650] $9.00 Sahara Sand Classic Stampin' Pad [126976] $6.50 Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad [126975] $6.50 Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder [109129] $5.00 2016-2018 In Color Stampin' Write Markers [141393] $15.00 Subtles Stampin' Write Markers [131263] $29.00 Brights Stampin' Write Markers [131259] $29.00 Versamark Pad [102283] $8.50 Liquid Multipurpose Glue [110755] $4.00 Stampin' Trimmer [126889] $30.00 Paper Snips Scissors [103579] $10.00 Big Shot [143263] $110.00 Heat Tool [129053] $30.00 In the marker packs, I used Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz and Daffodil Delight to color in the rose. Now that I look at the flower more, it may not be a rose, maybe a gardenia? If you know the correct name for the flower, please let me know so I can learn my flowers :) On the inside, I used the single "rose" flower and embossed and water colored it too to match the front of the card. My sentiment is the "Make A Wish" from Happy Birthday Gorgeous. All in all, it was a fun card to make - thanks Stampin' Up! for the inspiration. I have read many a post that do "Case the Catalog" days, and I finally did it. Yay! So, we are getting closer to the end of July - AARRGGHH! Just wanted to remind everyone of the Christmas in...
